Nicole and Chuck

Talk about a small world! The other Minnesota wedding I photographed, was Nicole and Chuck’s. The crazy thing about this is that we all currently live in Florida…but it gets even weirder—my wife once worked with Nicole, in MN, who I’ve also worked with on photo shoots here in FL, as she is a hair and make-up artist, and a GREAT one at that! It also turns out, that her husband, Chuck, was my old neighbor on Tamarac Lake in MN, who I haven’t seen since I was four years old. When I found out their wedding was in MN, I figured it would be in Minneapolis, since that’s where they used to live, but it actually ended up being held in my hometown, Pelican Rapids, near Tamarac Lake! Follow that?! All of this slowly unravelled in our pre-wedding chats.

Anyways, the day started out at the lake, which was amazing to see again 22 years later, but the actual ceremony and reception took place at Milts Barn—this place has more character than any venue I have ever shot at. I highly suggest you check them out if you are in the area! Nicole and Chuck had one of the most unique weddings I have been to—it had a great vintage charm, which had a huge impact on the way the photos were shot and edited. Because of the wedding style, I played with textures to give the photographs a nostalgic feel. Nicole and Chuck were a blast to work with, and I wish them the very best!
